Instead of having a fixed set of paylines and reel positions, games that utilise this mechanic will mix it up on every spin. Return of Kong does this by replacing any symbols involved in the original win with new ones, which in turn can create new combinations.
The Mystery Kong Bonus
This is randomly triggering bonus that can occur at any point during your gameplay. The titular Kong will descend onto the reels, throwing golden barrels into play as he does. They will settle in certain positions on the board, before revealing an identical symbol on each. A new calculation will be made, which could leave you with a better pay out.
Free Spins
To trigger this bonus, you will have to land four scatter symbols that spell the word KONG. You will then receive an initial total of 12 spins, with a starting multiplier of 1x applied for the duration. Both totals can be increased, with any extra scatter symbols you land awarding an extra 5 spins. For the multiplier, any win reactions triggered by the cascading reels will increase it by 1x.
That isn’t all though, as this bonus also includes an extra feature called the Monkey Trophy Collection.
